Waiting for the autumn

Ormai ci siamo. Le giornate si accorciano e fra un pò arriverà anche il freddo a ricordarci che l’estate è finita. Non sopporto il fatto di vedere arrivare il buio alle 5.30 del pomeriggio. Proprio no. Ma è inevitabile. L’autunno è arrivato e l’unica cosa che resta da fare è coglierne il lato buono: i colori delle foglie sugli alberi e quelli che solo la luce di questo periodo rivela nel cielo, ad esempio. E se vogliamo scendere più nel personale.. mi viene a mente una scena semplice: un letto, una tv, un bel film.. magari un libro, una rivista, una canzone. Con l’autunno il tempo si rallenta ma la mente corre più veloce. I ricordi che sembravano lontani tornano ad alimentare la fantasia.

Brick sunny Lane

Ho trovato questo modello squadrato (ve ne avevo già parlato nel post precedente) al mercato (tipicamente Bangla) di Brick Lane (la domenica mattina). Mi piacciono davvero un sacco e confesso che stavo cercando un modello simile a questo da parecchio tempo ormai.. Finalmente l’ho trovato.

I found this square model (I told you about them in the last post) at the Brick Lane Market (sunday in Banglatown). I really love them and I must confess that I was looking for a model like this for a long time. Finally I have found it.

London time again. and again..again

Scusate l’assenza. Ero a Londra. Voi direte “Ancora?” e io rispondo “Ebbene si”. Stavolta in esplorazione. Abbandonate la visione “commercial” londinese che prevede la calca di turisti che affolla Piccadilly Circus e Oxford street (con Primark, H&M, Topshop/TopMan..fatta eccezione per l’Apple Store di Oxford con le mele mezze morsicate per commemorare Steve Jobs).. (C’è stato tempo anche per un momento culturale al Natural Museum di South Kensington dove ho perso 3 anni di vita davanti a una vestrina di serpenti..ebene si..ne sono terrorizzata). Stavolta però il mio sguardo è stato catturato dalla bellezza del melting pot della BanglaCitye e dal mercato vintage domenicale di Brick Lane. Qui si può trovare di tutto. Dal Levis 501 tagliato ad arte, alle vecchie Polaroid o Leica. Per non parlare degli occhiali da sole e della varietà della cucina: thai, japan, mexican.. (gli smoothie erano favolosi..e ho provato anche i noodles al bacon e al pollo!) .Se volessi descrivere lo stile dei “Bricklaneniani” sarebbe una dura prova credetemi… Me ne sono innamorata. Di Londra lo ero già .
